Julie, Election NightOn March 20th, I moved one step closer to becoming your next State Senator with a decisive victory in the Democratic primary, receiving 88% of the vote.

I am overwhelmed by the support from the voters of the 29th District. I’d like to thank everyone who helped make this happen; so many people have been incredibly generous with their time and resources.

There is more hard work ahead of us, as we begin planning for the general election in November. Please continue to support me in this race. We know it will be targeted and hotly contested, and we need both volunteers and donations in order to continue the progressive leadership that Susan Garrett has provided for the last 10 years in the 29th District.

Sincerely,
Julie Morrison

Why I’m Running

“This district deserves a thoughtful, full-time legislator who will work with both parties to find solutions to our most pressing state problems. I want to trim the budget without penalizing working people and those most in need. In my 15 years as West Deerfield Township Supervisor I have seen first-hand the needs of residents, and I have the experience to find innovative ways to address them through intergovernmental cooperation, collaboration between the public and private sector, and coalitions with social services.”

—Julie Morrison

I am seeking the Democratic nomination to become the next Illinois State Senator for the 29th District. I have lived in the 29th District for over 30 years, and I am taking this opportunity to continue my public service.

I am currently serving my 15th year as the elected West Deerfield Township Supervisor.  My commitment has always been to listen to the concerns in my community and address those concerns.  As an elected official, I have developed programs to assist seniors, disabled residents, and those in economic crisis.

I will continue that commitment as your State Senator for the 29th District. I want to help create employment opportunities and an environment that encourages new business. I will work to protect our natural resources, especially Lake Michigan.  I want to make state government more responsive to the needs of Illinois residents, and I pledge to listen to and advocate for the concerns of the residents of the 29th District, and respond with action.

Please consider joining my campaign today. Your financial support will enable me to get my message out across the entire district:

I WILL REPRESENT THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE 29TH DISTRICT IN SPRINGFIELD.

Already, a number of donors have made or have committed to make substantial donations to my campaign. If you would like to join those people who believe that the 29th District needs and deserves experienced leadership with integrity, then please join them by making a donation to my campaign at this time.

I am truly grateful to have the support of so many voters, volunteers, and friends. With your help, I will be your next State Senator.
