DEERFIELD – On Wednesday October 5th, The Daily Herald announced its endorsement of State Senator Julie Morrison for the 29th District State Senate race. This is the second major newspaper endorsement earned by Morrison during the election.
“Democrat Julie Morrison, of Deerfield, has shown herself to be a conscientious, hard-working and independent voice in Springfield. She was one of only four suburban Democrats who bucked the party this spring and refused to support a budget put forth by the House that was billions of dollars out of balance. She is a chief sponsor of legislation calling for a constitutional amendment setting term limits for legislative leaders, is an outspoken supporter of redistricting reform, opposes a tax increase until the state shows better control of its spending, and has actively worked for improvement on such critical issues as pension reform, education policy and substance abuse…..Morrison has served the district well….. and has demonstrated a willingness to stand up to leadership in the interests of the state. She is endorsed.”
“I really appreciate the Daily Herald for talking the time to analyze the race and endorse me,” said Morrison. “Im proud to be recognized as an independent voice. I’m committed to working towards bi-partisan solutions for the betterment of all citizens of Illinois.”
Julie Morrison is running for State Senate in the 29th Legislative District. Morrison is a leader in the field of child welfare, gun violence prevention, and a strong advocate of fiscal responsibility and ethical government.
